Successful rescue of Maersk Binton for one of her missing seafarer in the middle of Atlantic Ocean


On 23rd June 2012, a seafarer on-board Maersk Binton did not show up for his duty.

After a thorough search on the vessel, it was assumed that he was overboard.

Then, a Search & Rescue operation was initiated with the help of U.S.Coast Guard.

It was approximately 550 Nautical Miles from the nearest land, in the North Atlantic.

The missing seafarer was rescued after 10 hours, in the evening just before getting dark.
